I enjoyed tonight "Adventure in Odyssey" Whit's friends and family tried to persuade him to stay in Whit's End and not leave for another mission trip. Each had their reasons. It reminded me of church, where we the younger folk don't want our pastor to leave and we come up with many reasons like we Connie said: "but we need you!" or "you have helped me to become a Christian". In the Whit said, many reasons were valid but his friends failed to address the first most whether it was God's calling and etc.
It was an exciting story. Totally reminded me when I was young that I listened to "Unshackled" and "Your story hours" many years ago. How I love them, but "Adventure in Odyssey" outshines them all.
On the way home, I heard a plug for a woman conference with a catchy title: Beautiful You's "Fight Like a Girl". The speakers are Lisa Bevere and Kathie Thomas. Lisa Bevere wrote "Fight Like a Girl", "Kissed the Girls and Made Them Cry", "Out of Control and Loving It!" and "Be Angry But Don't Blow It!".
Sound interesting. I wish there are similar mouth-watering for guys coming to this area. Word of caution though, their church is non-denominational and may not be part of the reformed churches network (duh).
